Journalism Portfolio: My work as a journalist is not available at this point.
Website Portfolio:
- Election Madness is a way for friends, family, neighbors, etc. to compete with each other to predict the outcome of the 2008 election. Influenced by March Madness pools, users are allowed to form groups to organize their competition. In the coming months, Election Madness will be revamped to include more than just the presidential election.
- Unsurprisingly, Katie Seidel, Bassoonist, is the website of a Champaign-area classical musician. On her website, you can find a schedule of upcoming performances, her experiences, and bassoon lesson information.
- True to my geekdom, I manage the website for the St. Louis Celestial Intervention Agency, a science fiction fan club that serves the greater St. Louis-area. Site features include a calendar of happenings, a user management system, and for C.I.A. members, many, many goodies, including past issues of the club's newsletter and video of events.
- Journal Watcher is a collection of tools for users of LiveJournal, GreatestJournal, and InsaneJournal. Site users have an intuitive way to track community posts, navigate the *Journal sites, and upload multiple user icons at once. Upcoming features include a Future Poster, whose name should be self-explanatory.
Upcoming Projects:
- If you're like me and sick of the lack of rational discourse, then Multifarious Online, when launched, might be just what you are looking for. Multifarious is envisioned as a community where people can thoughtfully engage about the pressing issues of the day. A white paper explaining the endeavor is forthcoming.
- The final project up my sleeve is named Logic-CC. The intention is to build a free, open-source system for learning symbolic logic, which will be released under a Creative Commons license.
